SCADA Batch是西门子用来解决生产高度柔性化要求的产品，基于ISA88标准，用于批处理过程，但同样适用于离散和连续生产过程，采用程序化配方概念，实现控制与工艺的分开。本文主要讲述了在SCADA Batch使用中，冗余系统的配置。
化工与制药行业有很多批处理工艺，同样在食品、饮料和造纸也有这样的工艺，其处理过程的特点之一就是：如果把不同批次的产品放在一起的话，很难区分哪一批生产的产品；其处理的另一个特点是用同一种设备可以生产出不同的最终产品，从而对设备提出了高度柔性的要求。S88标准为批处理控制提供了柔性的方法，虽然该标准是按批处理过程开发的，它也可适用于连续和离散的过程上，连续过程的例子如水的纯化和媒气获取；离散过程的例子如汽车生产；如果这些的生产过程中需要一定程度的柔性，那么就可以应用S88。
