工业过程保护装置是一种预警系统，用来避免代价高昂的过程中断及损坏设备。无触点运动传感器可以检测往复式和旋转式机械输送设备的运动和速度的变化。
非接触式声敏传感器能检测出由运动中的材料所引起的摩擦和冲击而产生的听不见的，高频声发射。声敏传感器可以检测到流动/无流动或高/ 低流量的状态，对堵塞、产品缺乏或设备故障现象发出警告。声敏传感器位于工艺过程的外侧，因而能精确地检测工况，且不会磨损传感器。
运动传感器能够在设备失灵时发出警告，在减速或出故障时关闭机械设备。这种传感器坚固耐用，即使在严酷的工业环境中也可以正常工作。所有MFA 4p 运动传感探头以及ME 100 ZS 和
Millpulse 600 均可安装在距离含铁物体达100 mm(4”) 的位置上，因而减少了损坏探头和设备的可能性。探头不会受到湿气或积尘的影响。
