Modbus Plus通信卡（VW3 A3 302）用于将Altivar 71变频器连接至Modbus Plus总线。
数据交换可以满足Altivar 71的所有功能：
. PeerCop控制与调整
. 使用Global Data（全局数据）服务进行监视
. 使用Modbus信息处理服务来进行配置、调整和诊断
如果Peer Cop服务未被用于控制，就可使用Modbus信息处理服务来控制变频器。
此通信卡有一个9针插座型SUB-D连接器用于连接Modbus Plus网络。
使用通信卡上的开关来配置变频器的地址。
变频器上的图形显示终端可以用来访问许多通信诊断功能。
